Taxonomy
Dinohyus was named by Peterson (1905) [note in Science; also attributed Peterson 1906].

It was synonymized subjectively with Daeodon by Lucas et al. (1997), Lucas et al. (1998), Foss and Fremd (1998).

It was assigned to Entelodontidae by Peterson (1905), Carroll (1988), Effinger (1998), Albright (1999).
