Taxonomy
Cosoryx dawesensis was named by Frick (1937). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ginn Quarry, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in Nebraska.
It was recombined as Cosoryx (Paracosoryx) dawesensis by Tedford et al. (1987); it was recombined as Paracosoryx dawesensis by Janis and Manning (1998), Davis (2007).
