Taxonomy

Uintanius was named by Matthew (1915). It is not extant. Its type is Uintanius ameghini.

It was assigned to Anaptomorphinae by Simpson (1940); to Omomyidae by Matthew (1915), McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Uintaniini by Szalay (1976), Muldoon and Gunnell (2002), Gunnell and Rose (2002), Hooker (2007).

Synonyms

Huerfanius was named by Robinson (1966). Its type is Huerfanius rutherfurdi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Uintanius by Szalay (1976), Gingerich (1981), Szalaly (1982), Beard (1987), Beard et al. (1992).

It was assigned to Omomyidae by Robinson (1966), McKenna and Bell (1997).
