Adapisoriculus was named by Lemoine (1885). Its type is Adapisoriculus minimus.

It was assigned to Adapisoriculinae by Van Valen (1967); to Insectivora by Carroll (1988); and to Adapisoriculidae by Gheerbrant (1995) and De Bast et al. (2012).
