It was assigned to Nyctitheriinae by Hooker (1986), Lopatin (2006); to Nyctitheriidae by West (1974), Carroll (1988), Gunnell et al. (2008); and to Placentidentinae by Beard and Dawson (2009), Jones and Beard (2023).
