Taxonomy
Acmeodon was named by Matthew and Granger (1921). It is not extant. Its type is Acmeodon secans.

It was assigned to Leptictinae by Hay (1930); to Didelphodontinae by Van Valen (1967); and to Cimolestidae by Matthew and Granger (1921), McKenna and Bell (1997) and Lopatin (2006).
