Maastrichtiocaris rostratus
Taxonomy
Maastrichtiocaris rostratus was named by Fraaije et al. (2003). Its type specimen is K 1399, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is ENCI Quarry (middle Meerssen Mb), which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate chalk in the Maastricht Formation of the Netherlands. It is the type species of Maastrichtiocaris.
