Taxonomy
Deltatheroides was named by Gregory and Simpson (1926). It is not extant. Its type is Deltatheroides cretacicus.
It was assigned to Didelphodontinae by Van Valen (1967); to Deltatheridiidae by Gregory and Simpson (1926), Simpson (1928), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (1979), McKenna and Bell (1997), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004), Averianov et al. (2010); and to Deltatheroida by Williamson et al. (2012), Bi et al. (2015).
It was assigned to Didelphodontinae by Van Valen (1967); to Deltatheridiidae by Gregory and Simpson (1926), Simpson (1928), Kielan-Jaworowska et al.
