Taxonomy
Capulus pretiosus was named by Wanner (1922). It is not extant. Its type locality is Bitauni, Timor (Molengraaf and Wanner coll), which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian marine horizon in the Atahoc Formation of Indonesia.
