Ganoessus michaelis
Taxonomy
Epelichthys michaelis was named by Jordan (1925). Its type specimen is SU 777, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kieselguhr Quarry, which is in a Miocene marine diatomite in California.
It was recombined as Ganoessus michaelis by David (1943), Fierstine et al. (2012).
