Procidaris edwardsii
Taxonomy
Cidaris edwardsii was named by Wright (1854). Its type specimen is NHM 75689, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mickleton Tunnel, near Chipping Campden, which is in a Davoei transition zone/lower shoreface shale in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Procidaris.
It was recombined as Procidaris edwardsii by Smith (2015).
