Taxonomy

Selenocara groenlandica was named by Bjerring (1997). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Wetlugasaurus groenlandicus by Damiani (2001).

Synonyms

Wetlugasaurus groenlandicus was named by Säve-Söderbergh (1935). Its type specimen is MGUH VP 3339, a partial skull (Natural internal cast of the posterior part of a skull), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Cape Stosch, Ridge VIII-IX, Myalina kochi horizon, which is in an Induan coastal claystone/sandstone in the Wordy Creek Formation of Greenland.

It was replaced with Selenocara groenlandica by Bjerring (1997), Novikov (2016).
