C. Peredo et al. 2018 | A large-bodied species of kentriodontidid identi- fied as unique in this analysis by a wide rostrum at the antorbital notch (measuring over 92% of the width across the middle of the orbits); premaxillae along the middle third of the rostrum con- tacting but not fused; premaxillae that extend posterior to the level of the anterior edge of the floor of the squamosal fossa; straight lateral edges of the premaxillae lacking an inflection near the nasals; deep emargination of the zygomatic process by the sternomastoid muscle fossa; and a medial portion of the max- illae that slopes down from the midline so that it is oriented dorsolaterally. |
