Taxonomy
Mansourasaurus shahinae was named by Sallam et al. (2018). Its type specimen is MUVP 200, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is north of road between Mut and Balat, which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Quseir Formation of Egypt.

Sallam et al. 2018Mansourasaurus is diagnosed by the following autapomorphies: ten dentary tooth positions; dentary symphyseal region with pronounced ventral projection (‘chin’) that comprises about one-third of the dorsoventral depth of the anterior end of the bone; Meckelian groove faces predominantly ventrally; anterior to middle cervical centrum with foramen in posterior portion of lateral surface; anteroposterior length of parapophysis in anterior to middle cervical vertebra subequal to that of centrum; foramen in capitulotubercular web of anterior cervical rib; distal radius four times broader mediolaterally than anteroposteriorly.
