It was synonymized subjectively with Pseudocucullaea lens by Reyment (1955) and Dartevelle and Freneix (1957).
Pseudocucullaea incisa was named by Solger (1903).

It was recombined as Lopatinia incisa by Riedel (1933); it was synonymized subjectively with Pseudocucullaea lens by Reyment (1955) and Dartevelle and Freneix (1957).
