Hudsonelpidia was named by McGowan (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Ichthyosauria by Sepkoski (2002); to Hudsonelpidiidae by McGowan and Motani (2003), Maisch (2010); and to Parvipelvia by Motani (1999), Maisch and Matzke (2000), Fischer et al. (2013), Ji et al. (2016).
