Corosaurus
Taxonomy
Corosaurus was named by Case (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen Sepkoski's reference number: 1044]. It is not extant. Its type is Corosaurus alcovensis.
It was assigned to Simosaurinae by Huene (1948); to Corosauridae by Young (1965); to Nothosauriformes by Storrs (1991); to Eosauropterygia by Rieppel (1994), Rieppel (1998); to Cymatosauridae by Carroll (1988), Rieppel (2000); and to Notosauria by Sepkoski (2002).
