Aphanocyon amaurus
Taxonomy
Aphanocyon amaurus was named by Secord (2008). Its type specimen is UM 64394, a mandible (Right dentary with p4-m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cedar Point Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in the Fort Union Formation of Wyoming.
