Taxonomy
Eocoleophorus glyptodontoides was named by Oliveira et al. (1997). Its type specimen is MNRJ 4593V, an osteoderm, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fazenda Santa Fe, which is in a Deseadan lacustrine shale/claystone in Brazil. It is the type species of Eocoleophorus.
