Paracosoryx loxoceros

Taxonomy
Merycodus loxocerus was named by Furlong (1934) [not 1935]. Its type specimen is CIT 1301, a mandible (right ramus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tonopah, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in Nevada.

It was recombined as Cosoryx (Paracosoryx) loxocerus by Frick (1937); it was recombined as Paracosoryx loxocerus by Tedford et al. (1987); it was recombined as Paracosoryx loxoceros by Davis (2007).
