Taxonomy
Strophodonta hoburgensis was named by Hoel (2011). Its type specimen is NRM Br 102617a, a valve (a dorsal valve interior), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hoburgen, which is in a Ludfordian perireef or subreef limestone in the Hamra Formation of Sweden.
It was recombined as Strophodonta (Strophodonta) hoburgensis by Hoel (2011).
