Taxonomy
Babameryx engesseri was named by Mennecart et al. (2012). Its type specimen is NMO-K11/15, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rickenbach, which is in a Chattian terrestrial horizon in Switzerland. It is the type species of Babameryx.
