Taxonomy
Buxolestes hammeli was named by Jaegar (1970). Its type specimen is Bchs 100, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bouxwiller, which is in a Lutetian terrestrial marl in France. It is the type species of Buxolestes.
