Taxonomy
Pseudogelocus mongolicus was named by Vislobokova and Daxner-Höck (2002). Its type specimen is NHMW 2001z0070/0001/1, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taatsiin Gol, TGR-AB/22, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial mudstone in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
