Taxonomy
Paraglyptosaurus yatkolai was named by Sullivan (1979). Its type specimen is AMNH 5181 (nearly complete frontal) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Blanco (AMNH Quarry 88), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the San Jose Formation of New Mexico.
