Melanerpeton arnhardti
Taxonomy
Melanerpeton arnhardti was named by Werneburg (1988). Its type specimen is NMSch (SAS) 195/43-44, a partial skeleton (skull and anterior portion of postcranial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lochbrunnen, near Oberhof, which is in a Sakmarian lacustrine shale in the Oberhof Formation of Germany.
