Machocyon abbasi
Taxonomy
Machocyon abbasi was named by Gingerich et al. (1999). Its type specimen is GSP-UM 4208, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pundelgoat, Gishtari area of Mach coal field, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial coal in the Ghazij Formation of Pakistan. It is the type species of Machocyon.
