Lophiomeryx kargilensis
Taxonomy
Lophiomeryx kargilensis was named by Nanda and Sahni (1990). Its type specimen is WIF/A 416, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 3.5 km ESE of Kargil township (K/7b horizon), which is in an Oligocene fluvial-lacustrine mudstone in the Kargil Formation of India.
