Taxonomy
Scalopoides hutchisoni was named by Korth and Evander (2016). Its type specimen is FAM 144656, a mandible (right dentary with p2-m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Observation Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in Nebraska.
