Taxonomy
Stomatia intermedia was named by Cooper (1894) [Lectotype (formerly CSMB 13742) designated by Saul & Squires (2008). ]. Its type specimen is CAS 609, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Lysis intermedia by Anderson (1958) and Coan (1981); it was recombined as Garzasia intermedia by Saul and Squires (2008).
