Pachyzaedyus cuneiformis was named by Ameghino (1902). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mustersan of Patagonia, which is in a Mustersan terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
It was recombined as Pseudeutatus cuneiformis by Simpson (1948).
