Taxonomy
Mortoniceras (Cantabrigites) cantabrigense was named by Spath (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Mortoniceras (Cantabrigites).

It was recombined as Cantabrigites cantabrigense by Kennedy et al. (1998), Szives (2007), Kennedy et al. (2008).
