Taxonomy
Nautilus hilarionis was named by de Gregorio (1880). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is San Giovanni Ilarione, which is in a Lutetian carbonate limestone in Italy.
It was recombined as Angulithes (Cimomia) hilarionis by Dieni (2012); it was recombined as Cimomia hilarionis by Clapham (2015).
