Taxonomy
Leptaena parvirugata was named by Hoel (2005). Its type specimen is SMNH Br138049, a valve (dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Valleviken 1. 3380 NE of Hellvi Church, which is in a Jaagarahu carbonate marl in the Slite Marl Formation of Sweden.
