Euproteaciphyllum was named by Jordan et al. (1998) [gen. nom. nov., based on Proteaciphyllum R.J.Carp. & G.J.Jord. (Australian Systematic Botany 10, 553 (1997)), nom. illeg., non MacGintie (1974).]. It is not extant. Its type is Euproteaciphyllum tridacnoides.
It was assigned to Proteaceae by Jordan et al. (1998).
