K. K. Tarasenko 2014Medium􏰀sized Cetotheriinae, about 3–4.5 m long. Supraoccipital wide, shaped as extended isosceles triangle with arched lateral sides; its anterior end lying in line with middle or anterior one􏰀 third of temporal fossae. Lambdoid crests slightly arched. Zygomatic bones short, with wide base and slightly medially curved anterior end. Anterior process of petrosal flattened dorsoventrally, hooked, formed of dorsoventrally flattened triangular blade. Posterolat􏰀 eral projection of posterior process of petrosal on lat􏰀 eral skull wall in shape of ellipse truncated at upper end, not forming flat even surface. Dorsal part of pet􏰀 rosal body oval. Endolymphatic and perilymphatic foramina wide circular, fused into integral oval aper􏰀 ture. Lateral edge of petrosal body slightly wrinkled and having weak longitudinal crest. Tympanic bulla auriculate, with strongly inflated anteromedial edge and oblique dorsolateral edge.
