Idiospira sulcata

Taxonomy
Hyattidina sulcata was named by Williams (1962) [Hyattidina? sulcata]. Its type specimen is BB.26731, a shell (Internal mould of complete shell), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Idiospira sulcata by Candela and Harper (2014).

A. Williams 1962Small, elliptical, strongly biconvex, smooth shells almost three-quarters as deep as wide and slightly longer than wide; anterior commissure rectimarginate up to the 2-mm. growth-stage but becoming sulcate in adult shells by the development of a wide dorsal sulcus and a corresponding median fold in the deeper pedicle valve; dental lamellae short, pedicle chamber not defined, divided hinge-plate of brachial valve unsupported.
