Manespira diversa

Taxonomy
Cyclospira diversa was named by Reed (1917) [Cyclospira ? diversa = 1883. Rhynchonella portlockiana, Davidson (pars), Mon. Brit. Foss. Brack., vol. v, Silur. Suppl., p. 159, pl. x, fig. 13 (non figs. 12, 14). Non 1868. Rhynchonella portlockiana Davidson, op. cit., vol. iii, pt. vii, p. 189, pi. xxiv, figs. 23-25.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Protozyga diversa by Reed (1917), Williams (1962), Mitchell (1977); it was recombined as Manespira diversa by Candela and Harper (2014).

A. Williams 1962Large, elliptical to subpentagonal, biconvex Protozyga with the pedicle valve almost nine-tenths as wide as long; a strong, angular, median fold, bounded by a pair of deep sulci, commonly developed in the brachial valve at about the 3-mm. growth-stage and was only exceptionally divided into a pair of submedian folds by a sharp, small, median sulcus.
