Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
C. M. O. Rasmussen et al. 2012 | Shell moderately concave, transverse, subelliptical in outline. Maximum width probably at hinge line. Anterior commissure rectimarginate.Dorsal valve strongly concave, with a high, wide catacline interarea. Chilidiumabsent. Unequally parvicostellate ornamentation with relatively closely spaced accentuated costellae that are intercepted by accentuated costae.
Dorsal interior with large bulbous cardinal process projecting posteriorly from a closed, convex chilidium. Socket ridges wing-like, bending at right angles in the anterior direction and not supported by valve floor, laterally. Dorsal median septum more like an elevated, thick ridge with a pair of side septa extending just anterior of cardinalia as short caluses on platform floor. Anteriorly the septum fuses with valve floor to form a bilobed elevated platform that continues laterally towards the cardinal extremities, extending for at least half of valve area. Muscle impressions faint. |
