Taxonomy
Schizophoria striatula australis was named by Kindle (1909) [Type designated by Cooper & Dutro 1982.]. Its type specimen is USNM 62005e, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Schizophoria australis by Stainbrook (1947) and Cooper and Dutro (1982); it was recombined as Schizophoria (Schizophoria) australis by Stigall Rode (2005).
