Taxonomy
Leptaenopoma trifidum was named by Marek and Havlíček (1967). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Temporary outcrop just northwest of Běchovice, which is in a Hirnantian transition zone/lower shoreface shale in the Kosov Formation of the Czech Republic.

It was recombined as Leptaena trifidum by Rong and Li (1999), Rong et al. (2002); it was recombined as Leptaena (Leptaena) trifidum by Cocks (2005).
