Gaspocyrtoceras clarksoni was named by Holland (2000). Its type specimen is TCD 51013, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is R101. Southern bank of North Esk River, above Henshaw Burn, which is in a Telychian marine mudstone/siltstone in the Wether Law Linn Formation of the United Kingdom.
