Taxonomy
Dicoryphochoerus medius was named by Liu et al. (1978). Its type specimen is IVPP V336, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jiulaopo (locality 63710 = 59 S 3), Xiehu, Lantian, Shaanxi, which is in the Turolian of horizon the Lantian Formation China.
