Taxonomy
Kiangsiella was named by Chao (1927) [Kiangsiella Grabau, in Chao (1927); Sepkoski's age data: P Leon P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 411]. Its type is Orthotetes tingi.

It was reranked as Streptorhynchus (Kiangsiella) by Reed (1931).

It was assigned to Streptorhynchus by Reed (1931); to Streptorhynchinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
