Taxonomy
Platyceras evolutus was named by Weller (1906). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Goetz's Lime Quarry, just below Glen Park Station, which is in a Kinderhookian carbonate limestone in the Glen Park Formation of Missouri.
