Diambonioidea was named by Zeng (1987) [Sepkoski's age data: O Sepkoski's reference number: 881]. It is not extant. Its type is Diambonioidea transversa.
It was assigned to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Grorudiidae by Williams et al. (2000) and Zhan and Jin (2005).
