Parotosuchus nasutus
Taxonomy
Capitosaurus nasutus was named by Meyer (1858). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Merkel's Quarry (lower), Bernburg, which is in a Spathian terrestrial sandstone in the Solling Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Parotosaurus nasutus by Jaekel (1922), Welles and Cosgriff (1965), Kuhn (1971); it was recombined as Archotosaurus nasutus by Paton (1976); it was recombined as Parotosuchus nasutus by Ingavat and Janvier (1981), Damiani (2001).
