Trematosuchus sobeyi
Taxonomy
Trematosaurus sobeyi was named by Haughton (1915). Its type specimen is SAM 2779, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Queenstown, which is in a Spathian terrestrial sandstone in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Trematosuchus.
It was recombined as Trematosuchus sobeyi by Haughton (1925), Shishkin and Welman (1994), Schoch and Milner (2000), Damiani and Rubidge (2003).
