Taxonomy
Anilioides nebraskensis was named by Holman (1976). Its type specimen is UNSM 04519, a set of vertebrae ("trunk vertebra"), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Durnal Ranch Quarry, which is in a Geringian terrestrial horizon in the Gering Formation of Nebraska.
