Taxonomy
Megakhosarodes zajsanicus was named by Storozhenko (1993). Its type specimen is PIN 2781/16, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Karaungir-II (PIN collection 2781), which is in a Changhsingian lacustrine mudstone in the Akkolka Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Megakhosarodes.
